We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Municipal Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the planning and policy application for the City of Toronto and surrounding Ontario regions. We encourage candidates who are passionate about planning theory, data gathering and analysis, decision making, participatory practices, and policy formulation to apply.
Key responsibilities
· Prepares policy and best practices background reports with clear recommendations moving forward.
· Develops land use policy pertaining to regional and/or municipal studies.
· Develops and delivers project work plans, timelines and public engagement plans.
· Liaises with clients and consultants and provides project management and planning advice under the guidance of an Associate or Principal.
· Responds to and prepares proposals under the guidance of an Associate or Principal.
· Collaborates with the O2 team across disciplines (planning, design, landscape, technical, data analytics) to complete deliverables and meet project expectations.
· Embodies O2’s values and demonstrates a professional demeanor.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a Professional degree in Planning, or related field (ideally a Master’s degree) in addition to 5+ years prior work experience. An awareness of current planning legislation and industry standards is a must. Strong competencies in graphic programs (Adobe Creative Cloud) are required. Having an entrepreneurial mindset, high energy, innovative thinking and a dynamic approach to urban design and planning would make an ideal fit to our firm.
